When Evelyn Russell (printmaker) and Vanessa Sparrow (fibre artist) first talked about showing their work together, they lived “a stone’s throw” across the street from each other, and were often popping into each others’ home studios to check out pieces in progress and talk about their making processes. 

Three years and one big, pandemic-induced interruption later, they no longer live on the same street, but are still excited by the ways in which printmaking and feltmaking connect creatively and aesthetically. They have developed this collection of works in monochrome in order to highlight the surface design possibilities of each medium.
